Signs of Water Damage on Hardwood Floors

DARK, MOISTURE STAINS

Every so often, take a long, hard look at your wood floors, checking for moisture stains. The color from one board to the next should be relatively consistent throughout your home. You should be able to spot any issues, which would be dark spots. If you see any potential issues, the wood may even feel damp to the touch.

DETACHED OR WARPED WOOD

As time goes on, hardwood floor damage will become increasingly apparent. The boards may swell and warp, creating uneven walking surfaces. The wood may also begin detaching from the subfloor underneath, making some boards an unsightly tripping hazard.

COMMON REASONS FOR HARDWOOD FLOOR WATER DAMAGE

Here are some of the most common culprits: Storm damage and flooding, leaky appliances, plumbing problems, and sewer backups can all be culprits of wood floor damage.
